My Morning Routine

Overview:

Mornings can feel super overwhelming and often times a rush. I have found that if there is structure and consistency to my morning routine I feel more productive, less rushed and grounded for my day ahead. Here I will share my 90 minute morning routine with you and why I have implemented this into my daily practice.

Routine:

My morning routine consists of 12 things I do each and every day to kick my day off to a successful start.

Upon waking up I (1) set my clock for a 3 minute timer to deep breathe to check in my with myself and set some intentions for the day. I then (2) change into an outfit for the day. Whether I am leaving the house or not, I always change out of my pjs. After that, I (3) make my bed and immediately (4) take my pup for a walk. Typically, we walk 1 mile each morning to get our blood pumping. Then I come back, (5) do my skincare and (6) say some morning affirmations. I then (7) drink a full glass of water while my tea is brewing. Once my tea is ready, I (8) drink it while (9) journaling. After I journal, I (10) get some mobility in so that my body is not tight for the day and I’m ready to train my clients. I do a quick (11) client check-in, update any programs that need to be updated and then (12) cook breakfast. After those 90 minutes, I am off and ready for the day.

This might seem overwhelming to some and I completely understand that. It took me a long time to get to this point. I started extremely slow while building this routine and gradually added things in each day to my comfort level.

Why?

I enjoy waking up a bit earlier so that I don’t feel rushed and overwhelmed in the AM. That feeling of being tardy or rushing carries over into other aspects of my day, making me feel less productive. This routine makes me show up for myself and be 100% present for all of my clients.

Takeaway:

This routine makes ME feel good, and is absolutely not for everybody. Maybe you have a nighttime routine that works better for you, or maybe you have midday check-ins with yourself to manage the day. I am here to share what works best for me and how I see the greatest amount of success in my days. Please remember to always be kind to yourself and do what feels best to you and your body.
